11:15 – 12:00pm         Then and Now: Reflections on the Fourth World Conference on Women and the Ongoing Journey Towards Gender Equality

Three members of our Ecumenical Women delegation who were attendees during the historic Fourth World Conference on Women held in 1995 in Beijing, where the groundbreaking Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action was adopted, will share their first-hand experiences.  This blueprint for gender equality and women's rights has shaped global policies and initiatives for nearly three decades. They will also share how the BDPFA has impacted their current advocacy work and discuss the ongoing impact and challenges of implementing its agenda.
